Biochemistry senior, Chris Toth (top picture, third from right) did what he usually does on Spring Break- he headed to New Orleans to help out! Chris was one of 37 Stevenson students who traveled to New Orleans as part of the SU club, Mission: I’m Home. The club partnered with Habitat for Humanity and with the Saint Bernard Project in order to rebuild homes or build new homes in response to the destruction from Hurricane Katrina.
The site that Chris worked on was an opportunity house, which is a new home built for a resident of New Orleans to move into after being displaced. Chris worked on insulating the house (bottom picture) and hanging new drywall throughout the home.
What an amazing experience and a wonderful opportunity to help others!
