SU environmental science major, Adara Griggs, recently worked with the Parks and People Foundation as an Environmental Literacy Intern for their Superkids Camp. This is the first time the program was held online due to Covid-19, and interns were tasked with teaching students about being good environment stewards. The program challenged Adara to use her environmental science knowledge to teach imperative lessons that help foster an appreciation for the environment. Together, the group embarked on virtual field trips to the zoo and students even received seeds to plant at home. Senator Mary Washington officially recognized the Superkids Camp as continuing to build community in an online setting. Let us congratulate Adara on her recognition as a Parks and People Environmental Literary Counselor!
