12 volunteers came together to remove over 500 pounds of trash from Gwynns Falls watershed on April 5th. The section of the watershed that was cleaned sits between the Owings Mills and recently acquired Owings Mills North campuses. During this event, over 1100 items were collected in 3 hours. Some interesting pieces of waste were found including but not limited to: 6 tires, 15lbs. of astroturf, a tricycle, a fridge drawer, a propane canister and so much more.

On April 21st, Stevenson’s Greenspring campus will have GreenFest, which is an entire event dedicated to being more environmentally friendly. During this all day event, there will be seminars in St. Paul Companies Pavilion on animal behavior, essential oils, green policing, environmental ethics and meditation stress management. There will also be live animals, vegan food, and beekeeper Dr. Matanoski on the quad to talk about the importance of our environment!
