On Tuesday November 13, Corey Polyoka partner and the director of operations for Foodshed LLC, came to speak to at Dr. Ora Freedman’s Environmental Economics class (EC440). Mr. Polyoka is also the co-owner of Woodberry Kitchen restaurant, Artifact café, and is involved (via his company) with other developments in the Baltimore and DC areas. He is passionate about sustainable business, and talked to the students on how one can be successful in business and produce ethically and be environmentally conscientious.

Mr. Polyoka is also a member of Business Administration Advisory Board and is a Stevenson Alum (class of 2008).

BSOBL Career Pathways - Dr. James Bond

On Thursday November 8th, the BSOBL courtroom was at full capacity to hear Dr. James Bond speak about the international development projects he was involved in and the trends and challenges facing our world.

Close to 100 students attended the event which was organized by Dr. Philip van Berten. After his talk, Dr. Bond fielded questions from students.

Stevenson University alumnae, Amanda Madrigale (Business Administration: Finance, Summer 2018) recently successfully passed FINRA’s Series 7 General Securities Representative Exam.

Amanda passed the Series 7 exam on her first attempt. This milestone will allow Amanda to trade stocks and bonds.

Over the Summer 2018, Amanda completed an internship with Navigant Consulting in Dallas, TX. She then received three job offers and accepted a position with Morgan Stanley.

In her message to her advisor, Zamira Simkins, Amanda wrote: “I was surprisingly a rock star at options thanks to your Foreign Exchange lessons!”
