Symposium Celebrates Stevenson University Leadership Scholars, Service Scholars, and Honors Students

The Scholars Program held its Fall 2023 Scholars Symposium in the Rockland Center on Thursday, December 14. The event showcased recent work by Stevenson’s Leadership Scholars, Service Scholars, and Honors Students.

Over the course of the two-hour symposium, students presented original research and projects through posters, oral presentations, and roundtable discussions. Topics included cybersecurity, diversifying the healthcare field, the psychological impacts of method acting, hunting for bacteriophages, and gender differences in generative AI. The work on display represented the wide range of academic programs offered at Stevenson, as well as the many opportunities for independent student scholarship and projects offered through our Honors, Service, and Leadership programs.

Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in service projects led by Service Scholars. These included bookmarks for the Maryland Book Bank and packing essentials that will be distributed to the unhoused by Project PLASE (People Lacking Ample Shelter and Employment).
