Stevenson Sodexo Baker Evolves into Campus Favorite with Delicious Cookies, Treasured Personality

Stevenson Sodexo baker Walter “The Cookie Man” Schmidt has quickly become a campus favorite among students, faculty, and staff alike.

Stationed in the Rockland Dining Hall on the University’s Owings Mills Campus, Schimdt says he’s worked as a full-time baker since he was 21. He is adored on campus not only because of the quality of his cookies, but also due to the fact that he regularly walks throughout the dining hall (and even other locations on campus) hand delivering fresh treats right when they come out of the oven.

Stevenson’s SUTV caught up with Schmidt to talk about the reason behind his passion and much more.
