Stevenson Places 52 Student-Athletes on MAC Fall Academic Honor Roll
Middle Atlantic Conference Executive Director Ken Andrews announced on Thursday that a total of 768 MAC student-athletes have earned 2014 Fall Academic Honor Roll honors, including 52 from Stevenson. The Mustangs had the sixth-most selections among the 17 conference schools.
Stevenson showed an increase in the number of student-athletes named to the Fall Academic Honor Roll for the third-staight year, up from 44 in 2012 and 51 from 2013.
The honor roll comprises those student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher and completed the playing season in good standing.
Stevenson’s Commonwealth Conference champion women’s soccer team, led by coach of the year Graeme Millar, had the most selections of any women’s soccer team in the league with 12, tying with Alvernia and Widener.
The Mustang women’s volleyball team, which won its third-straight Commonwealth Conference title, ranked second among conference opponents with nine selections, trailing only Messiah (13). Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year, senior Samantha Perillo, earned her third consecutive honor.
Men’s soccer and field hockey, the ECAC Mid-Atlantic champions, also had nine selections for Stevenson. Field hockey senior Caitlin Dempsey, the 2014 Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year, earned her second-straight selection.
