Stevenson Welcomes Visiting Writer Erika Robuck ’99 for Reading and Discussion

March 11, 2026 10 AM

Stevenson University’s 2026 Visiting Writer Erika Robuck ’99 will visit campus on Wednesday, March 11 for a reading and conversation in Rockland Ballroom from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Erika Robuck is a Stevenson University/Villa Julie alumna, class of 1999. She earned her B.S. in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Literature. After teaching third grade, she turned to writing full time and is now a national bestselling author. Her tenth novel, The Last Assignment, was published in 2025.

The evening will include a reading from her latest novel The Last Assignment, a moderated conversation with Dr. Gerald Van Aken, professor emeritus and former chair of the English Department, and a book signing.

The English Department’s Visiting Writer Series, supported by the Brooke Peirce Endowment, brings nationally renowned contemporary writers to Stevenson each spring for a series of public readings, class visits, workshops, and conversations with English majors. Visiting Writers work directly with students in creative writing contexts, participate in events connected to The Greenspring Review, and engage the wider university community through public readings and discussions.

Erika Robuck continues this tradition as this year’s Visiting Writer, bringing her experience as a nationally recognized historical novelist back to her alma mater.
