Online Internship & Job Sites
Ready for your internship or job hunt? Start here!
Handshake – Handshake provides students and alumni with access to the resources of the Stevenson Career Connection Center. Search for jobs and internships, find upcoming career events, and schedule appointments.
Parker Dewey – Parker Dewey connects students with employers on short-term, paid projects (micro-internships), usually in the range of 5 – 40 hours. You can use Parker Dewey to explore different career paths, work on interesting assignments, and demonstrate your abilities to potential employers. Sign up for a profile using your Stevenson email address.
CareerShift – CareerShift searches and organizes jobs posted on all public career sites and job boards. It allows you to search, select and store job listings, research companies, and manage your job hunt in your own personalized interface.
MANGO – MANGO is a free tool that coaches you through networking, starting with the outreach email. It provides step-by-step help on writing customized networking emails, having productive informational interviews, and managing one-on-one networking.
LinkedIn – LinkedIn is an essential tool for your job and internship search. Create and complete your profile, and use LinkedIn to find jobs and network connections.
O*Net Online – O*NET OnLine has detailed descriptions of the world of work for use by job seekers, HR professionals, students, and researchers.
USAJobs – USAJobs enables federal job seekers access to thousands of job opportunities across hundreds of federal agencies and organizations.
The Occupational Outlook Handbook – This handbook can help you find career information, education and training, and pay for hundreds of organizations.

Quick Tips for Interviewing
- Research by thoroughly reviewing the employer’s website and the job description. Know the employer, know the job.
- Practice by conducting a mock interview with your SU Career Advisor.
- Dress professionally, even if the office is business casual.
- Be on time and ideally arrive 10 minutes early.
- Turn off your cellphone.
- Be polite to all.
- Use a confident handshake.
- Tell stories and share examples.
- Remain positive. When sharing a negative experience, explain what you learned from the experience.
- Say thank you. Twice.
Resumes and Cover Letters
Your resume is your “foot in the door” for most jobs. To begin polishing your resume, use these sample resumes to help you start crafting one that will stand out.
Your cover letter should introduce yourself, address which job you are interested in and why. It should then provide examples of experiences and skills specific to the position to which you are applying.
