Masters in Forensic Science

Ikenna Ikpeama is a 2019 graduate of SUO’s Masters in Forensic Science program. He is currently working at the Maryland State Police Crime Lab. As a Crime Laboratory Technician, Ikenna says the most challenging part of his career is working in a place with a high crime rate but notes that this allows him to gain more experience

MD State Police Sworn Officers with FCC Police Science Pathway

Frederick Community College’s Police Science A.A.S. degree program offers Maryland State Police (MSP) Sworn Officers a pathway to Stevenson University Online’s Criminal Justice Bachelor’s program.

Following completion of FCC’s associate degree program, MSP officers receive a 20% tuition reduction for enrolling in our Criminal Justice bachelor’s degree program. Students will learn how justice is administered locally, nationally, and globally in order to understand and confront the fundamental issues of criminal justice we face as professionals and involved citizens.

Jay Tobin

John Tobin, Ph.D
Associate Professor of Forensic Science

Dr. Tobin has over 38 years of experience in forensic science in roles including Director, Forensic Sciences Division, Department of State Police and Chief Chemist at the Maryland State Police Crime Laboratory. Dr. Tobin played a direct role in developing the Master’s in Forensic Science program with Stevenson University Online. Dr. Tobin is one of many faculty members that bring extensive, real-life experience to our bachelor’s, master’s, and certificate programs.
