Assistant Professor in Nursing at Stevenson University Online’s Joyce Williams, D.N.P., was appointed to the Organization of Scientific Area Committee (OSAC) by the National Commission on Forensic Science earlier this year. Overseen by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), OSAC’s purpose is to improve the quality and consistency of work in the field of forensic science.

Joyce was recruited based on her accomplishments in the field. She notes, “The committee will focus on standards and guidelines related to the investigation of forensic investigations including search, documentation, collection and preservation of evidence associated with the crime scene.” Joyce is one of 16 forensic experts named to the subcommittee. She will serve a two to four year term.
