Stevenson University Online’s Forensics Department Chair and Professor of Forensic Studies Thomas Coogan and Cyber Forensics Professor Thomas Byrd lent their expertise to the Maryland Student Forensics Conference on April 21 by presenting Everything You Wanted to Know About Cybersecurity…But Were Afraid to Ask!
Their lecture provided an overview of the Children’s Online Privacy Policy and outlined the rules by which companies must comply when collecting child’s personal information. Teachers and parents who attended received an overview of useful techniques for keeping their children and students safe in cyberspace. Additionally, they introduced teachers to activities and videos that will allow them to set up and their own Cybersecurity / Digital Forensics Lab and offer students insight into the endless possibilities in the cyber security profession.
