Our Executives in Residence program offers our students a one-of-a-kind opportunity to interact with leaders from the workforce who provide unique insights into the working world. The Executives in Residence have the coaching and career skills to provide our students with expert knowledge on transitioning to the professional workforce as well as, cover letter and resume advice, interview skills through mock interviews, and networking skills.
Our current Executives in Residence, Gary Anderson, Jean Turner, and Michael Feldman, have expert knowledge and extensive resumes that make them bona fide teachers with all of the real world experience that provides students with unique insights into the working world.
Gary Anderson is a recently retired "market-facing leader and customer advocate of multi-billion dollar global B2B services provider" with a forty-year professional career. He is now a small business owner and embraces a philosophy of "continuous learning ... focused on team-building and talent development."
|Jean Turner is a retired "Director of Human Resources with extensive experience in all areas of Human Resources" and currently serves as the Director of the College Relations Committee of the Chesapeake Human Resources Association (CHRA).|

We ask for a time commitment of three to four hours per week based on your schedule and are confident you will find the experience rewarding.
Provides career advising to undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni. Offers guidance on resume and cover letter development, job and internship search strategies, networking, and other career-related areas. Presents workshops, assists with career fairs and other networking events, and helps coordinate career panels. Serves as a liaison to the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Design, and School of Education in support of career exploration and professional preparation.
Advises students and alumni on career education and the job search process; providing guidance on developing and managing their professional brand. Facilitates connections to employers, networking events and career related workshops, while assisting with various career services programming. Serves as Career Advisor for students in the School of Business and Leadership, School of Nursing and Health Professions, School of Sciences, SUO online and the student-athlete population to support career exploration and professional preparation.
Coaches students on key career skills such as interviewing, goal setting, how to research company information, and transitioning to the professional workforce. Provides insight into careers in the Human Resources profession. Retired Director of Human Resources with extensive experience in all areas of Human Resources. Directs and manages the coordination of overall operations, collaborating with other units on campus in developing and staffing shared events. Advises students and alumni in all SU schools on career exploration and job search. Provides leadership in developing programming and processes informed by best practices in career services; provides leadership and direction to expand the Career Peer Advisor Program and provides career counseling to students who are deciding on a major field of study.
Leads the Career Connection Center team to provide exceptional career education to our students. Advises students and alumni in all SU schools on career exploration and job search. Collaborates with faculty and staff across the university to support career development in the classroom and beyond. Manages all aspects of career services to ensure positive outcomes for our students and our employer partners.

Develops and maintains relationships with employers to create professional opportunities for students. Coordinates and supports events, programs, and marketing in the Stevenson Career Connection Center. Assists with providing content for and the management of the department's social media. Collaborates with other campus organizations and departments to promote Connection to Career and career tools offered to students. Trains, works with and supervises student employees.
