For some, earning our nation's highest military award for selfless courage--the Medal of Honor-- is a symbol of who they were at a moment in time. For others, it is a symbol of who they will be for the rest of their lives, the reflection not of a single battle but, instead, of the many battles they will continue to fight, and the harbinger of other courageous acts for which they will be recognized.
