Unmaking Waste Conference
Professors Inna Alesina and Lori Rubeling join other participants from around the world to present at the Unmaking Waste 2015 Conference

AVCD faculty, Inna Alesina and Lori Rubeling presented their paper, The Medium is the Message: Reinvesting in Environments and Communities Changes Habits – Station North Arts and Entertainment District Case Study, at the Unmaking Waste conference, University of South Australia, Adelaide on May 23, 2015.

80 delegates from across the globe shared exhibitions, research, sustainable pedagogies and publications that address un-making waste. The conference theme, Redefining waste as value, was explored in four organizing themes: value-centered practices and processes; designing sustainable organizational structures; economies and markets; and design methodologies.

Silkscreen Workshop
Students explore the hands-on technique of silkscreen printing

Students in ART 315: Surface Design had the opportunity to step away from the computers and participate in a silkscreen workshop during class. They created their own patterns on different materials in order to learn the ins and outs of this technique.
