Layla Thompson graduated in May 2014, but before she graduated, she already had a job… the exact interactive and print design job that she wanted.

Upon transferring from CCBC with her Associate’s Degree, Layla became a non-traditional student and full-time employee for Stevenson University in the Office of Information Technology. Before graduation, she was offered a full-time position as Digital Design Specialist to the Creative Services department at UMBC where she is currently working in both a print and web design environment. A project that Layla is currently designing — and is very excited about — is the Winter Session catalog and all corresponding publications (posters, website, etc.).

Layla says, “she would like to thank the School of Design, the Office of Information Technology, and Stevenson University for providing her with the essential skills needed in order to obtain a position in her field immediately upon graduation.”

She added that, “because of these skills, I have recently been accepted into the Integrated Design, MFA program at University of Baltimore, and will start in fall 2014.”

Congratulations Layla on your position and good luck in graduate school!
