Stevenson’s Art & Visual Communication Design department will host, Jinhwan Kim as our Spring 2017 Artist-in-Residence, February 12-14. Jinhwan Kim is an active graphic designer currently residing in Chicago. Originally from Korea, Jinhwan has a diverse background creating compelling UX and UI solutions for various industries, especially digital projects for the new United web, Discover Home Equity web, and FedEx App global releases. Influenced by these experiences, he contributed digital design solutions and futuristic concepts to companies in the North American healthcare industry as well.

Kim received a BS in Graphic Design from the Arizona State University and an MFA in Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art. The Princeton Architectural Press published book, Type on Screen features his research on page transitions and digital interface. He is a lover of typography, a self-motivated artist, and an imperfect human being who always challenges himself with new and old skills.

In addition to visiting classes, Kim will present a lecture on his work on Monday, February 13, at 7 pm, in the Soundstage (SD101) in the School of Design Building (11100 Ted Herget Way, Owings Mills, MD 21117) on our Owings Mills North campus, with a 6pm reception beforehand in the lobby of that same building. The event is open and free to all.
