Film and Moving Image News

A group of Stevenson University Film/Video students met with Sara Colangelo, the director of the Closing Night Film, Little Accidents, and Jed Dietz, Director of the Maryland Film Festival, this morning (5/10). We had a great time learning how Sara works and what led to the opportunity to make her first feature.

At last night's opening screening of 5 short films at the MD Film Festival, we had a group of 8 Stevenson Film/Video students: Joe Cipriano, Chelsea Clough, Danielle Damico, Jessica Goudy, Josh Harmon, Jake Herman, Corey Manly, and Tavon Mayne. A great time was had by all! If you want to download the full res copies of the photos, you can visit the album on Flickr to which I uploaded them.

Last night, in the Inscape Theatre of our Greenspring Campus, the Senior Film/Video students celebrated the end of the year with a screening of their Senior Projects to an enthusiastic audience. It was a wonderful event. Our congratulations to all graduating students. You should be proud of the work you did.

Students in Professor Exsul Van Helden's FIVTH335-ON2 (Lighting) class work with a Sony EA50 camera. Josh Harmon is on camera, filming Matt Stone in the car.

Come join us on Thursday, May 1, at 7pm (6pm reception) in the Inscape Theatre on our Greenspring Campus for our annual Senior Film/Video Showcase, featuring short films completed by members of the class of 2014.

If you're curious to see some of the posters that the students have made for their films, you can first come check out the Preview of Coming Attractions exhibit in the School of Design Gallery on our Owings Mills North Campus, which opens on Thursday, April 24, at 6pm.
