Film and Moving Image News

Keyword: lighting

Click on the image, above, to check out our new PSA – again, airing before all movies at Baltimore's historic Senator Theatre – to replace the one that has been playing for the past year. Once more, it was made in a class taught by Christopher Ernst (this time, it was FMI 303, or "Lighting for the Camera"). Enjoy!

Here is the list of credits:

  • Director – Chris Hessler
  • Assistant Director – Jasmine Sterling
  • Camera – Adam Vaughn, Ryan Scott, Danny Crapanzano
  • Gaffer/Grip – Jonathan Kuchinskas, Jessie Dubyoski, Arian Boroumand
  • Sound – Gabby Sturgeon
  • Editor – Ryan Scott/Chris Hessler
  • Sound Design – Jessie Dubyoski/Gabby Sturgeon
  • Production Design – Entire crew
  • Actors: Jessie Dubyoski, Christopher Ernst, Danny Crapanzano, Gabby Sturgeon, Adam Vaughn, Jasmine Sterling, Ryan Scott, Arian Boroumand

Students in Dina Fiasconaro's FMI101 ("Cinema I: Storytelling") and G.T. Keplinger's FMI201 ("Cinematography I: Black & White") collaborated recently on their lighting assignments.

Students in Christopher Ernst's FMI303 class - "Lighting" - pictured above, and FMI101 class - "Cinema I: Storytelling" - pictured below, work hard every week to perfect their craft. They use equipment like the Blackmagic Cinema Camera and Kino Flo lights. It's always a good (and valuable) time.
