FMI students start off their Stevenson experience with hands-on production right away, in FMI101 ("Cinema I: Storytelling"), shooting on GoPros, Canon t5i DSLRs, and Sony HXR-NX3s. By the time they get to the third year, in classes like FMI305 ("Production Design"), they are already working with professional equipment, like a Sony PXW-FS7. The FMI Department at Stevenson presents its annual Online Film Festival, which will run from Monday, November 2, at 9am, through Friday, November 6, at 5pm.

All current Stevenson students are eligible to submit films, and all current Stevenson students will be eligible to vote (once) on which film should win....Click here to read more.

Last night, two members of the Class of 2015, Jake Herman and Anthony Manning, screened their Senior Projects, Scrapes and Muted, at the 3rd Annual "Best of Baltimore" Student Film Festival, held at the Creative Alliance at The Patterson. A good time was had by all!

Adjunct Professor Exsul Van Helden, pictured on stage, above, screened his latest movie, New Roots, last Thursday, September 10, to an enthusiastic response. For more photos, please visit Stevenson's Flickr site.

Last academic year - in March, 2015 - a group of Stevenson FMI students attended the annual SXSW Festival, and had a great time. In March, 2016, we will go, again. All Juniors and Seniors are elligible should go, and should contact Chris Reed, if interested.
