Film and Moving Image News

Date: Feb 2015

The Killing showrunner Veena Sud Skyped with students in the Department of Film/Video today. In attendance were students from FMI211 - "Basic Screenwriting"- and FIVTH312 - "Directing for Stage and Screen." Ms. Sud discussed her career in film and television, and the art, craft and industry politics of creating a successful drama series.

Michael Tully's visit was a great success. Over the course of three days, we got to know him well. He imparted much wisdom, and now those of us who are going to the SXSW Festival in March this year look forward to seeing Michael again, soon. We also hope to meet up with our Fall 2014 Artist-in-Residence Kat Candler, who lives in Austin, Texas, as well.

Tonight, after a day filled with meetings (including one with our President, Dr. Kevin Manning, picture above with Michael Tully and Film/Video Chair Christopher Llewellyn Reed) and class visits, Michael Tully wrapped up his day with a screening of his last feature Ping Pong Summer. A good time was had by all.
