Film and Moving Image News

Date: Feb 2014

On Thursday, February 27, at 7:30pm, two recent Stevenson Film/Video graduates - Katie Shelton and Ben Tschirgi, both Class of 2013 - will have their films screened as part of the 2nd Annual Best of Baltimore Student Film Festival at the Creative Alliance at the Patterson. Come out and support both them and their colleagues from the other great filmmaking programs in and around Baltimore!

Thanks to Jack Gerbes at the Maryland Film Office, on Wednesday, February 26, at 7pm, Stevenson University will host a preview screening of Better Living Through Chemistry (which opens nationally on March 14) in the Inscape Theatre on our Greenspring Campus. Co-Directors/Co-Writers Geoff Moore and David Posamentier will both be present for a Q&A afterwards. The next morning, they will attend Film/Video Professor Exsul Van Helden's FIVTH335-ON2 Lighting Class in the School of Design Soundstage on our Owings Mills North Campus.

The film was shot in Maryland, and some of our Film/Video students worked on it. We're excited to see the finished movie!

For tickets and contact information, please see the poster, above.

Today, Senior Film/Video majors Joy Lasher and Tavon Mayne - the two winners of our Fall 2013 Screenwriting Contest - visited WYPR 88.1FM, Baltimore's NPR News Station, to sit in on the recording of the film segment of Maryland Morning with Sheila Kast, with co-host Tom Hall and Maryland Film Festival Director Jed Dietz (Washington Post Film Critic Ann Hornaday joined them via phone). It was a great experience for all!
