Junior biochemistry major Amber Spriggs spent her summer at an internship with DC Water, the water and sewer utility for the District of Columbia as well as wastewater treatment for several Maryland and Virginia counties. During her internship, she was responsible for many different assays: total suspended solids, total volatile solids, chemical oxygen demand, phosphorus, sulfur, nitrates, nitrites and ammonia.
