Communication News

Jacob TatumThe department of Communication is happy to congratulate junior Jacob Tatum, who was named as the men's lacrosse honoree for the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Sportsmanship Team for Stevenson University.

According to gomustangsports, the MAC Sportsmanship Teams "recognize student-athletes who exemplify great character and demonstrate the act of sportsmanship both and off the field. These student-athletes were selected by the head coaches from their respective teams. They represent their team, institution and the conference with high integrity, and exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches and opponents."

Anniversary teams logoThe Stevenson University athletic department has announced the first of its spring 25th Anniversary teams, beginning with women's beach volleyball. The three students named to the anniversary team were all Business Communication graduates!

Kristen Brooks Moler '17, Samantha Perillo '14 '17 M.S., and Lauren Weaver '18 were the three beach volleyball players comprising this first anniversary year team for the sport.

In order to be eligible for the 25th Anniversary teams, student-athletes must have exhausted their eligibility prior to 2018-19, have graduated from Villa Julie/Stevenson, and left their program and the institution in good standing. Teams were selected with input from the head coach of each program, along with former coaches and players and a committee of Stevenson athletics staff.

Congratulations to these three superstar student-athletes!

Joseph MaulerCongratulations to senior Business Communication major Joseph Mauler, who, after pursuing a minor in psychology during his years at Stevenson, has been accepted into the Master's program in Counseling at Messiah College (Mechanicsburg, Penn.). The predominantly online program in counseling "is designed to help students become competent counselors who work with clients in a variety of settings. Students will be prepared to serve others in the counseling process, develop their leadership abilities in the counseling field and seek to reconcile relationships within the counseling setting," according to the Messiah website. Joseph will begin his course work after classes are over at Stevenson.  (Photo courtesy of Joseph Mauler)
