Business Communication News

Future Stevenson Scholars' Day (Feb. 13) was filled with lots of visitors, questions, excitement and fun as over a dozen BizComm students showed up to help out the faculty with the departmental presentation.  A tremendous "thank you" goes out to our students: Sarah Cullison, Erin Schapiro, Lauren Novsak, Conrad Ellis, Lanie Swanhart, Emma Ragon, Megan Donahue, Emily Rosenthal, and Lauren Kiper, and Admissions leaders Annie McCoach, AJ Grimm, and Corrin Harris. They joined Business Communication faculty members Heather Harris, Stephanie Verni, Leeanne Bell McManus and Chip Rouse for the event.

A great big thank you goes out to the 11 Business Communication students who spent the evening on Feb. 11 helping to work the Baltimore Business Journal's annual Book of Lists gala. From registering and greeting guests, to directing floor traffic at the splendid Four Seasons Hotel in Harbor East, the students were valuable additions to the event's logistics.

Along with Dr. Leeanne Bell McManus and Chip Rouse, the students found time for some wonderful food and great networking opportunities. The students (seen all together in the top photo, l-r) were Julia Cooke, Megan McSwain, Andrew Grimm, Lauren Kiper, Will Comotto, Erin Schapiro, Siegfried Schmidt, Emma Ragon, Kaitlin Kirkwood, Edward Bennett and Alex Schoen.  Stevenson University was also a sponsor of the event, which honored the region's top companies and leaders.

Students in the Advanced Event Planning class taught by Dr. Leeanne Bell McManus joined members of 47 House, the communications club, in a visit to the Baltimore Hyatt in preparation for the beginning of the Eastern Communication Association convention in March. Students toured the facility with Dr. Bell, and Professors Stephanie Verni and Chip Rouse, along with the event planners at the Hyatt.

The convention will begin on Wednesday, March 30, and conclude on Sunday,  April 3. The students will be acting as the local hosts of the event. (Photo courtesy of Dr. Leeanne Bell McManus)

The School of Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) is holding a bachelor’s to master’s (BS to MS) Information Session for current students on Wednesday, February 17 from 5-7 p.m. at the Rockland Center Banquet Room on the Owings Mills Campus.
