Sophomore pitcher Dan Williams was named the MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week on April 3 following his no-hitter against Albright College on April 2. Senior Meagan Hardesty (on the left in the photo) is enjoying her internship in communication at the Maryland School for the Blind, under the supervision of Dotty Raynor, the Communications and Development Manager at the school. Meagan has been writing press releases, working to put together a newsletter for all constituents, and helping plan events for the school. Her writing skills have helped her succeed at the site. Senior Maia Milas (on the right in the photo) has relied upon her love for animals and her interpersonal communication skills to help her succeed in her internship at the Padonia Veterinary Hospital. Her supervisor, Chelsea Raras, a Stevenson grad herself, has worked with Maia on the development of new and improved marketing materials for the clinic, and Maia’s eye for design has been a great help in these projects. Maia also has had the opportunity to participate in the everyday workings of the clinic.
Despite not having a ton of experience with the world of baseball, senior Dayne Turner has thoroughly enjoyed his internship with the Baseball Factory, a part of Factory Athletics. Here, Dayne (center) is flanked by Jeff Goldscher, assistant to the CEO, and Matthew Lund, the director of web content and social media. The company conducts player development clinics and helps young players succeed in the world of sports. Dayne has been working in the fields of marketing and event planning.
Senior Andrew Sweeney (right) is learning the ropes of entrepreneurship under the guidance of Scott Westcoat, who not only owns and runs C’Ville Bikes, but who also runs major sporting events under the company name EnviroEvents. Andrew has been involved in the planning of several large-scale events, including the “Sand Duels Beach Soccer Challenge” held yearly in Ocean City, Maryland, which will draw hundreds of players. Andrew’s organizational skills will be put to the test during that weekend!
