Communication News

Senior Adrianna Kamosa (in the photo on the right) is interning at the Strategic Factory in Owings Mills, Md., under the supervision of Katie Scarbath, Human Resources and Recruiting Specialist. Adrianna is learning how the world of HR operates, helping to sort through job applications, screen applicants through telephone conversations, and complete the appropriate paperwork. Her interpersonal skills are tremendously useful during the interviews, and she appreciates the tremendous mentorship she is receiving at the Strategic Factory, an integrated creative and strategic brand company.
Junior Caroline Izzi (in the photo on the left) is thoroughly enjoying her internship at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. Working under the mentorship of Sinclair Miller, the marketing and digital media manager for the organization, Caroline is learning how the zoo uses social media to increase its public profile. Her tweets are full of funny and endearing puns to help interest more animal lovers in visiting the Zoo, and she also enjoys the time when she gets to interact with the zoo's animal population!
Senior Heather Lopiano is in the midst of her third internship at Stevenson, this semester with Corrigan Sports Enterprises in Elkridge, Maryland. Under the mentorship of Dave Gell, director of communications, Heather has been working in public relations, client services, event planning, and a myriad of other communication-related areas. Corrigan Sports was established in 1991 to create, manage and execute sports and event marketing opportunities for the corporate community. A partnership with the IWLCA (Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association) helped CSE gain national exposure, and add in events including the Baltimore Marathon & Running Festival and the Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic, it's easy to see how the company has made a national name for itself.
Senior Abigail Provost is interning this semester with Edie Brown, of Edie Brown and Associates. Abby, who will graduate in December 2017, is enjoying the fast-paced and multi-tasking world of public relations under one of Baltimore's most well-respected PR professionals. With clients including Feld Entertainment, which sponsors most events at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Edie Brown has taught Abby the importance of building and maintaining relationships with clients, the media, and the public relations community.

Junior Meghan Loveless (on the right in the photo) has developed an interest in web content management, and her internship under Anne Stringer, the Digital Experience: Group Strategic Creative Manager, has given her lots of opportunities to learn how online marketing content is created and managed in the corporate world.

Meghan's work "above and beyond" what was asked of her in a recent project to aid her supervisor earned her a special WIN award, pictured here.
