Congratulations to senior Business Communication and volleyball star Lauren Weaver, who was named the MVP of the recent Middle Atlantic Conference volleyball tournament for her exemplary play in the semifinals and the finals, totaling 15 kills on .282 hitting for the Mustangs, according to In the photo, Lauren is shown with her head coach Dave Trumbo (left) and Ken Andrews, executive director of the MAC. The Mustangs took down Arcadia in four sets to move on to a berth in the NCAA Division III tournament for the seventh straight time.

Business Communication graduate Emily Rosenthal has begun a job with the Catholic Review as a staff writer, and one of her recent articles combines her Catholic heritage with her love of Carroll County. Business Communication professor Stephanie Verni kicked off National Novel Writing Month with a presentation to interested students and staff about getting their first novel started. As the author of three novels herself, Verni spoke with confidence about the challenges and joys of writing.

Two Business Communication faculty members who serve as mentors to the residents in Western Run Hall hosted a "Decorate your own spooky cupcake" night to celebrate Halloween as well as October birthdays in the residence hall. Over 90 cupcakes and nearly 10 pounds of  buttercream frosting later, Leeanne Bell McManus and Chip Rouse called it a night. The first-year students were both imaginative and silly as they frosted and decorated their cupcakes. The Faculty in the Halls program includes eight faculty members who serve as another point of contact for resident life at Stevenson.
Alum Jen Antonelli reached out to the department of Business Communication to let us know she has  an exciting new job. She just started working for The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults (the organization with which she ran across the country) as their 4K for Cancer Program Coordinator - Events and Recruitment. She will focus on organizing events for the runs and rides and recruiting college students to participate in the cross-country events.
Jen spent the summer of 2017 running across America with a cohort of volunteers to help raise money and awareness for the Ulman Cancer Fund. The blog chronicled her progress racking up the miles. The department of Business Communication is so proud of the former Stevenson Admissions team member as she embarks on this exciting new venture!
