Business Communication News

Ashley MilTaking a risk:

Writes SU Business Communication grad Ashley Mil: I left my corporate job in PR to pursue my passions in fitness, yoga, blogging and all things wellness! I had the opportunity in my career to make a decision; either stick to the path I was already on or take a huge risk and create the life I’ve been dreaming of ... I found myself dreading going to work and itching to get out of my 9-5 desk job any chance I got... I finally decided I want more than that and I won’t settle! I know that I can create the life I truly want to live and I am taking things into my own hands instead of someone else’s! Cheers to new beginnings, new challenges, all the change and a life worth living.

Best of luck to you, Ashley, as you pursue your dreams! (Photo from Facebook)

The cheer team in Daytona, 2019

The 2019 team made school history by earning the highest score ever and placing top five in the nation. Congratulations to the cheer team! (Photo courtesy of Claudia Tonti)

Dr. Leeanne Bell McManus and Professor Chip Rouse, members of the Business Communication team and Faculty in the Halls mentors, hosted a night of BINGO for their first-year students and RAs in Western Run residence hall on April 2. The play was competitive, fueled by snacks and the lure of great prizes, including the grand prize, a $50 Amazon gift card!

Images of 2019 Relay for Life

Business Communication students, faculty and alums participated in Relay for Life on Friday, March 30, extending the event until 3 a.m. Sunday morning. Teams walk laps around the gym and raise money for the American Cancer Society. In the photos above, the Business Communication team, #TeamChrisNoya, gathered for a group photo early in the evening. The team was walking in remembrance of longtime faculty member and assistant professor, Chris Noya, who passed away earlier in March after a long fight against cancer. Thanks to Leeanne Bell McManus for some of the photos.

Dr. Nadene Vevea, head of communication programs at Stevenson, congratulated the inductees, and alums Grace Clark, Alli Winer, and Bridget Forney, all employed by Profiles, Inc. public relations, spoke during the keynote section of the ceremony. The inductees and their guest speakers posed for a group photo before enjoying a lively reception with family and friends.
