Authors reception 2019As the second edition of their event planning textbook gets ready for publication, three of Stevenson's communication professors, (l-r) Stephanie Verni, Chip Rouse and Leeanne Bell McManus, attended the Kendall Hunt Publishing reception on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Capital Grille. Here, they stop for a photo with Paul Carty, Kendall Hunt's director of publishing partnerships. In conjunction with the National Communication Association's convention that was concurrently held in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, Kendall Hunt Publishing took the time to celebrate all its faculty authors.

Travel Writing workshop participants

Students, faculty, and staff members joined Professor Stephanie Verni for a Travel Writing Workshop designed to enhance their ability to write about their travels. Verni has taught courses in travel writing in which she requires students in the class to travel somewhere and write about it, in both descriptive and reflective forms. The workshop was co-sponsored by the Stevenson library and held in the Learning Commons lab as a part of the Arts Alive! initiative.

Business Volunteers video with NCAWith the National Communication Association's 2019 convention held in Baltimore, members participated in a Baltimore service project as the convention sessions began. With the help of the Business Volunteers of Maryland under the guidance of business communication alum Lauren Novsak ('19), members of the NCA, including Stevenson's own Dr. Leeanne Bell McManus, worked for the Boys' and Girls' Clubs of Brooklyn Park preparing bags and participating in other activities, explained in this video posted on Facebook.
