BizComm sophomore Jess Demko and first-year students Sarah Cullison and Lauren Spivey helped the Stevenson University women's soccer team to the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs, making it to the round of 32.

The women's volleyball team also made it to the NCAA Division III playoffs with the leadership of senior BizComm Sam Perillo. Sophomore Kristen Brooks and freshman Lauren Weaver helped the team advance as well.

The women's cross country team competed in the NCAA Mideast Regionals hosted by Dickinson College. Junior Lanie Swanhart finished behind one teammate with a time of 26:09.

Freshman Abby Provost helped the women's field hockey team to win their first ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Championship.

The men's football team has received its first ECAC Bowl Game bid on Saturday, November 22. Senior BizComms Chris Newkirk and Anthony Arcell, juniors JaRon Cody, Andrew Wysocki, and Jarret Bragg, sophomores Daniel Miller, Fred Terry, and Dayne Turner, and freshmen Daniel Williams, Lee Bouggess, David Miles, and Anthony Rotonda all helped the team find 2014 success.

On November 17, Western Run's Faculty in the Halls mentors Chip Rouse and Leeanne Bell McManus helped the RDs hold a Thanksgiving feast for their residents. The feast was held in the Ratcliffe Community Center.

The complete Thanksgiving meal included turkey, stuffing, rolls, corn, and gravy.

SOS Glee Club,  the Gospel Choir and singer Jon Grant all performed at The Great Western Run Thanksgiving Feast 2.0.

BizComm alum Dottie Hudson Barber was inducted into the 2014 Stevenson University Hall of Fame's first class. Barber graduated in the Villa Julie class of 2000.

She was a two-sport athlete, participating in field hockey and track and field. She was a three-time NFHCA All-Academic Squad selection and was the captain of the field of the field hockey team for two years.

In her three years of indoor track, she was voted MVP each year. In 2000 she qualified for the 55 meters at the ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. She was named the school's Most Outstanding Female Athlete and the NCAA Woman of the Year honoree. The department of Business Communication and Dynamic PR invite you to the movie screening of "Home for the Holidays."

Several BizComm students helped their teams get into the playoffs as mid-November approached.

The women's soccer team beat nationally #1-ranked Messiah College in penalty kicks to win their first Commonwealth Conference Championship and advance into the program's fourth NCAA Division III tournament. Sophomore Jess Demko and freshmen Sarah Cullison and Lauren Spivey helped the soccer team advance.


The women's volleyball team also won the Commonwealth Conference Championship against Messiah College for their third MAC championship. The team also advanced into the NCAA Division III tournament for the fourth time. Senior Sam Perillo led the team with 37 digs in the championship, and sophomore Kristen Brooks and freshman Lauren Weaver also starred during the win.


Freshman BizComm Abby Provost and the women's field hockey team advanced to the ECAC's for the first time as well.
