Two BizComm students will compete with the swim team on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Stevenson University's first home meet. The meet will be held at the McDonogh School in Owings Mills.

The men's and women's swim team was added for the 2014-2015 school year. Bizcomm freshman Liz Kamosa, and junior Alison Smith are both members on the team. The women's swimming team beat Wilkes University on November 8 and recently competed at the Diamond Invitational hosted by King's College.

Students in the Event Planning and Publicity class taught by Business Communication faculty member Michelle Damareck were fortunate to be able to visit the site of Fandango Productions in Baltimore on December 1. Fandango's clients have included Under Armour, McDonald's, Disney, Red Bull, Target, AOL, Kodak, Subway, and Levi's, just to name a few. The event production company creates, plans and manages large-scale launch events, cause awareness fundraisers, and political events, among others.

A great big thank you to BizComms Heather LoPiano and Andrew Grimm (pictured here on either side of the author, who's in the center) for their volunteering to help greet and host author Carine McCandless when she recently visited Stevenson University to talk about her new book, "The Wild Truth."

Here, the students take a moment to pose with the author and copies of the book.

Stevenson's Open House on Saturday, Nov. 22, was considered the university's largest Open House ever, and the BizComm session was no exception! It was standing room only as students Courtney Hastings, Lanie Swanhart and Mollie Meeder joined BizComm faculty Chip Rouse and Stephanie Verni to talk about the academic side of life at Stevenson. The students were poised, their comments thoughtful, and their enthusiasm for all things BizComm visible. All in all, the day was a terrific success! (Photo by Lanie Swanhart)

Kendall Hunt Publishers is preparing to gear up their publicity for the new event planning text that three members of the Business Communication department at Stevenson University are writing.

At this year's National Communication Association convention, Kendall Hunt's standard includes, among others, a mock-up of the cover of "Event Planning: Communication Theory and Practice," co-authored by Leeanne Bell McManus, Chip Rouse, and Stephanie Verni.
