The department of Business Communication is thrilled to welcome back some faculty after a semester away, as well as to welcome new members of the team.
Returning after a semester off is Jessica Kartalija Anecharico, who will be teaching Introduction to Public Speaking. She began teaching at Stevenson in Fall, 2014, and away from Stevenson, she is a general assignment reporter and news anchor at WJZ-TV.
Dr. Terry Stephens will also return to Stevenson after a semester hiatus. A Howard University graduate, she will teach Introduction to Public Speaking, and has specific interests in health care education.
Jason Cohen will return to Stevenson this fall, having taught a semester of Writing for the Web in addition to his full-time career in digital marketing. He will teach Introduction to Public Speaking, relying on his presentation skills and career strengths.
Jeremy Caplan returns to Business Communication, having taught in a variety of capacities at Stevenson University thus far, including sections of journalism and intercultural communication. He will have an evening class of Introduction to Public Speaking that will complement his faculty work at CCBC Essex and Catonsville.
Also new to the Business Communication team is Chris Daley, who comes to his adjunct position from Maroon PR, a Baltimore-area public relations agency. Chris participated in the Sports Industry Symposium at Stevenson this year, and will be teaching a section of Introduction to Public Speaking.
Cheri McDowell, who will be teaching Introduction to Public Speaking, received her Master’s degree in Organizational Communication from Bowie State University. She works professionally in the field of communications, and has also adjuncted at Towson University and CCBC.
Tom Burkhart has been an adjunct instructor at the University of Baltimore and comes to Stevenson to teach two sections of Introduction to Public Speaking. An attorney, he is a Ph.D. candidate as well in Rhetoric from the University of Iowa.
Anthony “David” Burns (no image available yet) has been adjuncting at CCBC for over six years in the areas of public speaking, interpersonal communication, and small group communication. He will teach one section of Introduction to Public Speaking and one section of Intercultural Communication for the department.
Brittany Miller (no image available yet) is completing her terminal degree at the University of Baltimore and will use her background in event planning, project management, and alumni services at Towson University as she teaches the Event Planning and Publicity class to Business Communication majors.
