Lauryn Gavis headshotSU Communication major Lauryn Davis can't say enough good things about her summer internship. She writes on LinkedIn: "School is back in full swing but I can’t help but find myself wishing I was still in Vegas. This past summer I was given the amazing opportunity to intern with Station Casinos at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa. As an intern I spent time rotating through different departments in the casino, mainly gaming and food and beverage, where I was able to work hands-on running day-to-day operations on the property as well as have the chance to work with other interns to identify and remedy points of friction in the company. The experience I gained with Station Casinos was truly life-changing and the people I met were unforgettable."

What an amazing experience, Lauryn! Congratulations! (Photo from LinkedIn)

Senior Siegfried Schmidt is finishing up a year-long internship with the Gilbane Building Company under the mentorship of vice president Michael Crase. Zig's tasks have continued to include work on the marketing side, but he has also been learning the operations side of how project development occurs. Gilbane, a global integrated construction and facility management services firm located in Locust Point, is a privately held family-owned company. Here, Zig and his mentor stop in front of photos of Ravens Stadium, where the company is currently working on a few projects.
