Marissa Heuer softballSenior Marissa Heuer was named to the Middle Atlantic Commonwealth Conference's First Team in Softball for the 2022 season. According to gomustangsports.com, "Two-time MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week, Heuer appeared in 20 games with 16 starts and 15 complete games. She pitched a total of 113.1 innings, throwing 91 strikeouts. She held a record of 12-4 with two saves during the regular season including, two no-hitters against Eastern (03/19) and Messiah (04/09). Heuer's no-hitter in March against Eastern was the first of her career and the program's first since 2008." (Graphics from gomustangsports.com)

Communication Studies graduate student McKenna Blick was named to the MAC Commonwealth' second team, scoring in every game during her transfer season with the Mustangs, finishing second on the squad in goals, assists, and points. She surpassed the 200-point milestone in the MAC Commonwealth Championship game against York, according to gomustangsports.com

HoF 2022Congratulations to two communication alums on their induction into the Stevenson University Athletics Hall of Fame. Honored were Sarah Moelter, for softball, and Kara Zimmerman, for field hockey. Both alums attended the event, and we are so proud of their accomplishments during their time at Stevenson. Also honored in the event's featured videos were Anthony Fitzgerald, Chris Warren, and Greg Furshman. It was a great night for sports at Stevenson, and a wonderful tribute to the success of our communication students.

Heuer Player of WeekCommunication athletes are on a roll! The Stevenson softball team handed Messiah University their first MAC Commonwealth loss of the season, as pitcher Marissa Heuer threw her second no-hitter of the season. The Mustangs won, 2-0. Heuer was also named softball's Player of the Week in the Middle Atlantic Conference.

Blick Player of WeekComm Studies graduate student McKenna Blick was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Player of Week in women's lacrosse for the week of April 11.

According to gomustangsports.com, in Stevenson's 25-7 win over Hood, Blick picked up two ground balls, with two turnovers and one caused turnovers. Later in the week, the graduate student picked up four ground balls, two turnovers and two caused turnovers in the 20-1 win over Eastern University.

Congrats Alums yellowThe Department of Communication is excited to see our alums achieving their goals out in the workplace. There's been a lot of news over the last month. We're so happy to share some of their professional news.

Kimberly Hahr Barnhard accepted a new position as the Director of Member Services at Associated Construction Distributors International, where her main responsibility is as a meeting planner. She plans conferences that happen twice a year in different locations around the country…sometimes even in international destinations! 

Jamie Brown Hart began working as a Human Resources Specialist at Scotts Miracle-Gro in June 2021 and confirms that the grass is truly greener at Scotts.

Will Comotto began working at Brown Advisory in February as a Client Onboarding Specialist. In this role, Will supports client-facing teams, helps set up new client accounts, and works alongside different bank partners.

Courtney Hottle Davis began a new position as Communication Consultant at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield.

Christine Favata joined CC&A Strategic Media as a Marketing Coordinator.

Zaria Greene started a new position as Service Coordinator at Service Coordination Inc.

Mollie Meeder began a new position at The Johns Hopkins University as Assistant Capital Planner.

Olivia Sackrin began a new position as Senior Partner Account Manager at Amazon Web Services.
