Business Communication professor Stephanie Verni received notification on May 24 that her most recent work, The Postcard and Other Short Stories & Poetry, received recognition as a finalist in the 13th Annual National Indie Excellence Awards.
Professor Verni noted that this is the fourth time her books have placed in this contest, which gives tribute to independent authors. Her other works of fiction include Beneath the Mimosa Tree, Baseball Girl, and Inn Significant. She is also the co-author (with two of her colleagues in the Business Communication department) of Event Planning: Communicating Theory and Practice.
