Communication News

Date: Nov 30, 2021

Sarah Brightman ConcertComm alum Julia Tucker ('14 undergraduate degree, '15 graduate degree), known to many for singing the The Star-Spangled Banner at Mustang Stadium, Camden Yards, and at other events, will be singing backup for Sarah Brightman on her “A Christmas Symphony” Tour at The Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, MD, on December 6 and 7. As someone who loves music and theatre, Julia is thrilled to be able to sing with the talented Sarah Brightman. Additionally, in 2019, Julia sang backup for Josh Groban.

Congratulations, Julia! We are very proud of you!

Ryan Patrick Hockey PlayerCommunication senior Ryan Patrick was named MAC Player of the Week for assisting the Mustangs on a 2-0 week. Additionally, Ryan was named UCHC Player of the Week.

In the matchup and sweep against Tufts, Ryan led the Mustangs with four points on two goals and two assists and was plus-2 this weekend. On Friday, he served up two assists in a 6-2 win. On Saturday, Ryan scored a power-play goal and added a shorthanded marker in a 4-0 victory over the Tufts Jumbos.

Ryan manages to adeptly balance his hockey schedule and his academics, and was one of the students who worked in The Mill last semester with Dr. Bell, using his communication skills to assist their client, BricknFire Pizza, with its marketing and communication campaign.

Congratulations, Ryan!
