The networking group of Black Sports Professionals named Business Communication alum Alex E. Parker their Black History Month honoree. Alex received her Master's degree from Georgetown University as she was working for the Baltimore Orioles. She is now the Partnership Marketing Manager for the organization and an adjunct capstone advisor at Georgetown University's Sports Industry Management Master's program. Congratulations, Alex!

Junior Jacob Tatum was named the Middle Atlantic Commonwealth Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Mustangs' lacrosse win against York College on Saturday, Feb. 22. According to gomustangsports.com, "Tatum finished with five points on four goals and one assist as the Mustangs upset 6th-ranked York on the road. The junior scored a pair of goals in each of the second and third quarters, including a man-up goal in each quarter. He added one ground ball and one caused turnover and totaled seven shots. Tatum has a point in 32 consecutive games."

Neo-race Realities in the Obama Era expands the discourse about Barack Obama's two terms as president by reflecting upon the impact of neo-racism during his tenure. The contributors examine how identities become the target of neo-racist discriminatory practices and policies in the United States. Individual chapters explore how President Obama's multiple and intersecting identities beyond racial binaries of Black and White were perceived, as well as how his presence impacted certain marginalized groups in our society as a result of his administration's policies. All are invited!
BizCom alum and current Masters student Savana Herndon (#11, left) was honored on basketball's Senior Night, Feb. 18, as she and senior Hannah Crist played their last home game as Mustangs. Herndon, a guard, had two points in the Mustangs' 85-39 win against the Hood Blazers. She is currently enrolled in the Masters of Communication Studies program at Stevenson, having graduated early in her undergraduate Business Communication program.
