Business Communication News

Date: Jun 17, 2019

Tyler Didra and 4K for Cancer runnersAs she begins her 4,000-mile journey to the East coast, Business Communication alum Tyler Didra is keeping us posted about her progress. She wrote, "Today, we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge (plus an additional 97 miles). Baltimore, I’m still over 4,200 miles away, but I am on my way home."

As a program of the Ulman Foundation, a non-profit organization that changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults and their loved ones impacted by cancer, the 4K for Cancer initiative includes teams of runners (and cyclists) who will make their way across America this summer, raising money for cancer research and support. Best of luck to you, Tyler! She's in the back row, second from the left. Those who want to help out with a donation in Tyler's name can click here. (Photo from Facebook)

The department is extremely proud of Julia, who has never stopped pursuing her dreams!

Claudia Tonti and other internsBusiness Communication graduate Claudia Tonti recently had the opportunity to travel to Toronto, Canada, to intern for the Event and Arena Marketing Conference 2019, along with her mentor, Edie Brown of Edie Brown and Associates. Sponsors of the conference included Feld Entertainment, Riot Creative Imaging, Budweiser Stage and Billboard, among others. About the event, Claudia wrote, "This experience was one in a million and one I will never forget! I met so many amazing people and learned a lot about the industry I work in and love so dearly. Thank you, EAMC, for the memories and friendships of a lifetime." (Claudia is third from the left in the photo of the event's interns from Facebook)

EAMC logoAccording to its website, "the Event & Arena Marketing Conference is dedicated to the talented professionals that cross the scope of the live entertainment industry: marketing, publicity, promotions, group sales, live touring shows and arenas."
