Business Communication News

Date: Apr 2018

Congratulations to junior Lauren Novsak, who spoke at Stevenson's Annual Endowed Scholarship Luncheon. She writes, "I was able to express my gratitude to all the donors of Stevenson University ... Fostering a culture of philanthropy among students on campus has been one of the highlights of my undergraduate career."

Lauren will serve as the Student Government Association president during the 2018-19 academic year. Her campaign stressed a campus-wide culture of philanthropy. Congratulations, Lauren!

"What I love about my Business Communication degree is that I can do ANYTHING!" How often we hear this from our students. Is it true? A brief survey of some of our graduates tells the tale!

On April 13, the administrator of the language access program, Business Communication alumna Marilyn Lovo, testified before the D.C. Council's Judiciary Committee in support of $3 million additional funding for victim services, especially culturally specific legal and social services and Ayuda’s Victim Services Interpreter Bank. Students in '47 House, the integrated marketing communication club, hosted a workshop designed to help students build their personal brand in and through social media. The workshop, held on April 17 in the Manning Academic Center, drew a good crowd, and Business Communication faculty members Stephanie Verni and Chip Rouse covered topics including professional blogging, LinkedIn and other popular social media. Pizza and cookies sweetened the event, which received rave reviews.
