In the photo, Brianna ("Bri") Buttner is busy checking the credentials of all attendees of the Washington Automotive Press Association (WAPA) Rally and Awards ceremony Oct. 20, 2017. Her internship with Business Communication alum Amanda Calcado at Event Solutions International gave Bri access to the rally, luncheon and awards ceremonies. Event Solutions International schedules many test drives of new and specialty automobiles so that journalists can evaluate them.
"I can't believe I got to meet automotive journalists whose articles and blogs I have been reading for years," said Bri. "It was such an exciting experience and I felt like I really contributed to the event management."
Members of the Business Communication department enjoyed a brilliantly beautiful Homecoming day 2017 on Saturday, Oct. 21. Lots of alumni returned to reunite with each other, and a victory for the football team capped the day!
The department of Business Communication is thrilled to congratulate three of our alums who were honored at the 2017 induction ceremony for the Dick Watts Athletics Hall of Fame.
Jessica Bensley, '06, was an outstanding volleyball, basketball and softball player during her time at Stevenson. Brad Friedel, '00, was an MVP of the men's tennis team as a senior and came back to serve as a coach from 2001-2004. Brett Mitchell, representing the men's golf "Team of Tradition" of 2006-07, was on the Stevenson team that was the first to qualify for the NCAA Division III men's golf championship.
The event was help on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017. Congratulations to all the student-athletes who were honored during the event.
