Business Communication News

Date: Sep 8, 2016

The Business Communication First-Year Seminar students listen intently to Dr. Leeanne Bell McManus and Professor Stephanie Verni talk to them about the importance of their personal brand. The group is preparing for an outing to Oriole Park at Camden Yards where they will enjoy a "behind the scenes" tour and a meeting with the community relations folks there. After that, they will take a cruise in the Chesapeake Bay, departing from the Baltimore Harbor, and then later in the semester, they will complete a project on Baltimore's brand. The year has certainly begun with energy and excitement!

Senior Savannah Lawrence is already enjoying her second internship -- this time as a writer/researcher with Baltimore's Vegetarian Resource Group. The VRG is a non-profit that works with mainstream businesses and organizations to make it easier for those who want to live a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle to do so. The organization provides assistance to consumers, education of health professionals, and food service outreach. Savannah is researching and writing articles for the Vegetarian Journal and the organization's blog, among other things. Here, second from left, she poses with another intern, Alicia Hückmann, and her supervisors, Debra Wasserman and Charles Stahler.
