Business Communication alum Kayla Wilson (at center in the photo taken during her internship) spent the summer working for the Office of the Attorney General and Secretary of State's Office in Maryland, helping to create a new flag protocol for fallen soldiers and assisting with the draft of a ballot question for the coming election. She was excited to meet so many professionals who have a passion for working in public service.
Kayla also traveled to Croatia for three weeks as a part of the Intellectual Property Study Abroad program offered at Michigan State University College of Law, where she is studying. Kayla writes, "There's a different dynamic among people over there compared to America, and it was very interesting to watch interactions among people and how they communicate with each other and with Americans."
She adds, "My degree in Business Communication remains invaluable. I am so glad that I took interpersonal and intercultural communication. Those classes really helped me communicate with the locals and understand some of their mannerisms and reactions to me."
Kayla is excited to return to school in the fall, for along with her other classes, she is participating in an externship with the National Labor Relations Board in Detroit this fall. Congratulations, Kayla, for such amazing success!
