Stevenson men's lacrosse junior  and BizComm Pat Candon was named Commonwealth Conference Offensive Player of the Week, after the Mustangs' wins over Messiah College and Western New England College last week.

This was Pat's first weekly honor and it came with his 13 points on eight goals and five assists, including a career-high five goals in the team's 13-1 win over Messiah. He added one goal and four assists in the Mustangs' 17-4 win over Western New England. Congratulations, Pat! (Information courtesy of gomustangsports.com)

On February 7, Biz Comm Senior Courtney Hastings was named Mar-Del Watermelon Queen 2015 at the Mar-Del Watermelon Convention held at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, Maryland.  To win the title, Courtney had to interview with a panel of judges, write and film a 30-second commercial, give a three-minute speech, and answer an impromptu question on stage.  Courtney will now spend the year traveling the United States and Canada, making appearances, interviewing with media, and serving as a spokesperson and public relations ambassador for the watermelon industry and Mar-Del Watermelon Association.  She will compete for the national title next February in New Orleans.  Congratulations, Courtney!  (Photo courtesy of Courtney Hastings)

Senior Taylor Thompson (in the photo on the right), who aspires to own her own baking business one day, is having a fantastic internship experience under the mentorship of baker Brittany Zaruba, shown here with one of her amazing cakes. Not only is Taylor learning the secrets of the bakery, but she is also providing her mentor with guidance regarding social media marketing and research. Zaruba's bakery, Once Upon a Crumb, is slated to open in Sykesville, Maryland, soon.
