Communication News

Date: Aug 7, 2014

The BizComm department is thrilled to have three new interns this fall. Samantha Perillo, Nicolette Stoner and Tyler Turk will help with a number of initiatives, including the First-Year Seminar, the Internship Preparation class, research and data collection for the department, newsletter creation and event planning.

The interns will receive academic credit for their work. Here, in the photo on the left, is Samantha Perillo in Ireland, and on the right is Nicolette Stoner in her previous internship with the Spiritual Spectra.

BizComm alum Jess Dixon Bieber (2009) checked in with the news that she is soon to start a new job with the Fallston Group, a full-service public relations, marketing, strategic planning and brand management comany that specializes in "building, strengthening and defending reputations," according to the website. Jess' past experience with Jigsaw Marketing provided her with strong interpersonal skills, particularly in building and strengthening relationships. While at Stevenson, she was editor of The Villager and captain of Stevenson's NCAA women's lacrosse team, among other things.

Congratulations to Business Communication 2014 grad Travis Douglas, who stopped by the office to let us know he has accepted a job as an IT recruiter with Vision Technology Services, a company that "provides IT talent and project management services to help world-class companies lead," according to the website. Travis' strong interpersonal skills, coupled with his leadership abilities, helped him start along this career path. Here he is shown on the right during his internship next to his mentor, Jeff Dudley, at Corrigan Sports.
