Congratulations to Dr. Leeanne Bell McManus, Chip Rouse and Stephanie Verni of the department of business communication! Their co-authored original research paper, "Communication as the Art and Craft of Event Planning," was accepted for presentation at the 2015 Annual Convention of the Southern States Communication Association in Tampa April 8-12. On January 24, a team of 18 climbers will assemble in Tanzania, Africa, to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with world-renowned mountaineer, Chris Warner, and friends at Earth Treks in the 2015 LIVESTRONG "Survivor Summit." The team will make the seven-day trek to Uhuru Peak at 19,341 feet and will share stories of their experiences along the way.
Brian Myers, BizComm graduate and fundraising and events manager for the LIVESTRONG Foundation, will join the climb. He is raising money for cancer patients as well as for a donation to Huntington's Disease research. You can read more about Brian's personal challenge here. Stevenson women's volleyball BizComm senior Samantha Perillo was named the 2014 Middle Atlantic Conference Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Dec. 22. She is the first player from Stevenson to receive the prestigous honor.
Perillo, who graduated with honors in 3 1/2 years on December 15, was named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player of the Commonwealth Conference Volleyball Championship.
