Business Communication News

Date: Oct 21, 2014

In the second Lunch Lessons of the semester, the department of Business Communication welcomed three alumni guests who spoke with the students about their paths from Stevenson (or Villa Julie College) to where they are today. Lauren Humphries (left) currently works as the marketing manager for the LUNGevity Foundation, having moved to that position from her former spot at Towson University as the coordinator of marketing and special events for campus recreation. Julia Pettingill Webster, CPSM, (center) now works as the senior marketing coordinator at RK&K, a multi-discipline civil engineering consulting firm. Jake Quimby (right) works at Stevenson University as a communications specialist in the Office of Admissions, where he assists in developing, writing, and designing recruitment communications, including print and digital media.

The alums spoke about their careers and offered some advice to the 12 students attending the catered luncheon.

Congratulations to the three BizComm faculty who celebrated years of service at the university's annual service banquet on Monday, Oct. 20 in Rockland Banquet Room.  Adjunct instructor Jim Smith (left), shown here with Dr. Kevin J. Manning, Stevenson's president, was honored for five continuous years of service. Dr. Deric Greene, associate professor of Business Communication, celebrated 10 years of service, and department chair Chip Rouse was honored for 30 years of service.

The catered luncheon included awarding of certificates and gifts for those in attendance.
