Stephanie Verni at 2131Business Communication professor Stephanie Verni, whose 12-year career with the Baltimore Orioles preceded her start at Stevenson University, recalls the day Orioles star Cal Ripken set the major league record for consecutive games played, with 2131, breaking Lou Gehrig’s hallowed record in 1995.

This priceless photo includes Cal, center, after the historic accomplishment, and the communication professor is indicated by the yellow arrow. Verni's note about the photo says, "This is the best picture I have from that night, in the dugout, with Cal and his parents, and Julie Wagner, thanks to the late, great, wonderful team photographer and friend, Jerry Wachter."
