BizComm Alaina Peterson, who is studying abroad this semester at the National University of Ireland in Galway, writes to us of her experiences thus far:
My friend Marisa from Drexel University and I have been living in Galway for about a month now and it has already been such an amazing experience so far. NUIG is about a 20-25 minute walk from our apartment and only 6 minutes from Eyre Square!
Transitioning, as you can imagine, has been little challenging, but it gets better each day. I went from having 20 people in my classes at Stevenson to having 50-150 students in my five lecture classes I'm taking here in Ireland! Adapting to a bigger environment can be overwhelming at times but it has already helped me to overcome some of my fears, which has allowed me to become more adventurous and assertive. I have made some amazing friends so far, not to mention the fact everyone in Ireland loves Americans which makes it that much easier.
Take care, Alaina, and stay in touch!
