Hadassa Guttman (BT ’14) has accepted a Molecular Diagnostic Lab Technician position at PapGene Inc. After graduating from Stevenson in May of 2014, Hadassa entered a rigorous 9 month Master of Science program in Applied Molecular Biology at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). She has been teaching in our biology department as an Adjunct Instructor since August 2015.

In her new position, Hadassa will be one of only a handful of employees working towards early detection of both ovarian and endometrial cancer, using a new method developed by Johns Hopkins researchers. This method was developed only a few years ago and hopes to increase early detection of tumors through non-invasive methods and thus increase the survival rate of patients with these, and potentially other cancers.
