Congratulations to Math Faculty member, Dr. Mark Branson, on being awarded a Maryland Open Source Textbook Initiative Open Educational Resources (OER) Mini-Grant.  Dr. Branson will use this grant to write a free textbook for our quantitative literacy, MATH 135:  Introduction to Mathematical Reasoning course.  The textbook will teach quantitative literacy in the context of social justice.  We are excited to be able to offer a free textbook to our students at SU and to provide it free of charge to students at other institutions.

Congratulations to applied math senior, Alayna Roesener, on receiving the 2020 Math and Physics Department Service Award! This award is given each May to the graduating senior in the department who has made significant, sustained contributions to the department and to the school.
